Sky To Launch On Demand Video Service on October 26

Sky is gearing up for the launch of its video on demand service called Anytime+. This service is slated to go live on October 26, 2010.

This service from Sky that will give a tough fight to Virgin media will be available to all the Sky HD box customers. It will be provided free of charge to the existing Sky TV customers. It will provide access to over 600 movies to choose from to the viewers and along with rich sports content. The movies will range from different genres including drama, action, kids movies etc. This means there would be something for everyone to watch out for.

The Sky TV customers will require a movie pack to enjoy the movies and sports pack to catch the sports action to avail the Anytime+ service. The User Interface has been kept similar to that of the existing Sky HD EPG. The image thumbnails of channels appear in front of the viewers, this makes it easy for them to locate what they wish to watch and choose it. The content will reach viewers through their broadband lines. Sky customers using Sky Broadband Connect will not be able to enjoy this service as it uses the BT network. The viewers will also get the freedom to store their favorite TV content in their set top boxes before hand.

Sky already has 50 dedicated HD channels for its customers and now with Sky Anytime+ it will surely be a treat for the TV addicts. Sky now gives its broadband and TV customers the taste of pure entertainment.
